Laura Dowling is a Parisian-trained floral designer in Washington, DC. Her website and blog are full of oh-so-fabulous bouquets that make you want to organize a party just to find an excuse to contact her.
Designed by Hasan Demir Obuz for Ilio, Forest is a set of six glasses that take their individual form from that of a tree, but together reflect the harmony of a forest. Isn't it beautiful?

I have fallen in love with this artist's prints! Shun Kawakami is a graphic designer whose works are a blend of monochrome graphics with delicate calligraphy and ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arrangement). Images via Kawakami's blog.
{The okapi idea} is a new section that I am adding to this blog, in which I will present hybrid designs, art works or ideas (the combination of two or more different concepts or designs aimed at achieving a third one).
I was obviously inspired by the okapi, an animal which can only be found in the Ituri forest in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (the ex-Zaïre) - and seen in some zoos around the globe. The okapi, which looks like a cross between a giraffe and a zebra, is most closely related to the giraffe, even though it bears striped markings reminiscent of the zebra.
Ryota Aoki is a young Japanese ceramist whose elegant minimalist works are really art pieces. I would love to have at least one of these pieces! (found via the sadly discontinued Ping Mag blog)
I LOVE this Artquitect range by Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon (mentioned before). These pieces were created as a celebration of bathroom elements as pieces of furniture. Mr Hayon has successfully achieved that.
I love these images. Access Agency, launched by The Cool Hunter, creates "customized experiences" with surprise elements that are memorable. Mc Fancy was envisioned for McDonald's during Fashion Weeks...
