Koto Bolofo is one of my all-time favorite photographers. I love his use of light and color, and there is always something inspiring in the way he portrays people and scenes. I cannot recall the number of times that I have loved a photo shoot in a magazine and found his name when I checked who the photographer was...
Anna Eleanor Roosevelt was the First Lady of the United States from 1933 to 1945. After her husband's death in 1945, Roosevelt continued to be an internationally prominent author, speaker, politician, and activist for the New Deal coalition. She worked to enhance the status of working women.
Shinichi Maruyama is a famous Japanese artist and photographer particularly known for his "Kusho" series (“writing in the sky” in Japanese), in which he shoots the merging of Indian ink and water as it creates calligraphy forms known as Shodo (Japanese calligraphy).

Monochrome graphics+ Calligraphy + Ikebana= Shun Kawakami
I have fallen in love with this artist's prints! Shun Kawakami is a graphic designer whose works are a blend of monochrome graphics with delicate calligraphy and ikebana (the Japanese art of flower arrangement). Images via Kawakami's blog.
{The okapi idea} is a new section that I am adding to this blog, in which I will present hybrid designs, art works or ideas (the combination of two or more different concepts or designs aimed at achieving a third one).
I was obviously inspired by the okapi, an animal which can only be found in the Ituri forest in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (the ex-Zaïre) - and seen in some zoos around the globe. The okapi, which looks like a cross between a giraffe and a zebra, is most closely related to the giraffe, even though it bears striped markings reminiscent of the zebra.

I love this photographic series by Christian Chaize, Praia Piquinia. It comes from the photographer's obsession with a small stretch of coastline found in Southern Portugal, which presented itself as a metaphor of a new landscape in his life. Available for sale at 20x200.

Café Germain is a neo-brasserie decorated by India Mahdavi, in the heart of the hip Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood of Paris (France). Its most striking decor element is a giant yellow sculpture of a woman by Xavier Veilhan, which goes through the ceiling of the ground floor and ends in the VIP room of the first floor.
